Be a WILD man…The Man God called you to be!
Our Vision is to create a safe environment that is conducive for men to discuss and learn the biblical vision for the man’s role in the home and society.
Our Mission is to form Biblically healthy men through intimate relationship with their creator.
Premises/Perceived Need -The man’s role within society and the home has been at worst diminished and best His importance has been minimized. The church has not done much better in that we have often communicated that men are simply to be “nice guys.” Often the church has sought to tame the “beast within. Unable to “tame” that which God created them to be we drugged the beast with a steady diet of “sugar” and a message of docility.” As a result men have fallen asleep to the message and purpose of God for their lives. -Those men whom “smelled” the danger in such a message ran for their lives. The result is that there is leadership vacuum within the church and society.
WILD men seeks’ to acknowledge that men are uniquely formed by the creator for adventure. Simultaneously we long for intimacy-to connect on a deep emotional and spiritual level with something bigger than ourselves. We have A God -given thirst for significance within the lives of others and to be significant. It is in quenching that thirst and living the adventure that we will shake off the “drowsiness”, wake from our slumber and discover our true purpose in the Kingdom of God and in this world to be Leaders and torch bearers for hope and success. As St. Irenaeus said, "The glory of God is man fully alive." That's what we are devoted to--seeing men come fully alive as the image-bearers of a breath-taking God. Nothing short of transformation of the heart, mind, and Spirit is our end game and prayer.
Specifics: We hope to accomplish the above through dependence upon God for his direction for the ministry. - A task which we acknowledge is easier said than done. We will build a foundation of trust. Strict confidentiality will be adhered to. We will use resources from various backgrounds of theological understanding within the evangelical faith. However where non-evangelical resources such as catholic or even secular are seen to add value and perspective to the discussions those may also be utilized by the facilitator(s) and will be disclosed as such. Our goal is to facilitate rich, honest, vulnerable discussions without fear of rejection or retribution. All participants will voluntarily adhere to a strict set of rules of engagement.
