EaglePointe Core Values

  1. To be a missional church and be missional people.

  2. Biblical Holiness Preaching. We believe that biblical holiness preaching changes lives. It is what sets our denomination apart from many others in the evangelical Christian faith.

  3. Relative Worship. Worship should be relative to the culture to which we intend to minister. To claim worship is contemporary, or modern, or traditional are labels that are left over from worship wars. We believe that worship should be done in a way that is appealing to the cultural target area.

  4. Holistic Spiritual Focus. We believe that we are heart, mind, and body. All of these areas must be developed in order to achieve spiritual balance in our lives.

  5. Servant Leadership. Jesus came to serve, not to rule. He modeled the behavior for the church. The model was one of servant hood. Matthew 23:11-12. (11) But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. (12) And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.

  6. Life Changing Prayer. "When I was young, I wanted to change the world, but it was too big to take on myself. As I grew to adulthood, I decided to change my country, but still, it was more than I could handle. As I matured, I thought to change my town, but alone, I thought I could do nothing. When I became old, I decided to change my family, but that, too, was too much more than I could do by myself. Now I am dying, and I see, that I had only to change myself. For in changing myself, I could change my family. In changing my family, I could change my town. In changing my town, I could change my country. In changing my country, I could have changed the world."

  7. Jesus Modeled Love. We believe Jesus was the first NewStart pastor. Jesus modeled how we were to love the unchurched, and how we should treat them. We recognize the primary difference between us and them is that we have accepted the grace of God.

  8. Great Commission Vision. Jesus' vision for the church was to go to every group of people and preach the Gospel, teach, and make disciples. Our vision is to take the message of the gospel to the community, and meet the needs of those within the community regardless of ethnic group or background.

  9. Disciple Making Teaching. There is a difference in loving people and accepting them for who they are and making excuses for allowing them to remain in sin. We recognize that Christianity is a journey and each person must be allowed to walk their own path. However, we must be clear that for authentic faith to occur all paths lead to Jesus. Those paths include intentional efforts to make necessary changes in our lives with the help of the Holy Spirit. This must be taught to new Christians and explained. In a postmodern world there are many people that wear the label Christian and genuinely do not understand what a Christian life of authentic faith entails. We must help lead them through this process of understanding.

  10. Relational Evangelism. John Maxwell says, "People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care." This has never been more true than in this postmodern age. People are connected at a level with the world like never before. We have more forms of communication today than at any other point in history. But loneliness is still an epidemic. People are seeking authentic relationships. The most effective form of evangelism is no longer pitching a tent and advertising a revival expecting people to show up by the hundreds. Scandals from televangelist to the local church have caused people to distrust the church. The result is cynicism and suspicion of anyone claiming to be a Christian. We must intentionally build relationships with people and earn the right to share Jesus with them.
